Nigerian rapper Ice Prince Zamani was in Kenya for the just concluded season of Coke Studio Africa. He recorded a song with Ne-Yo, Alikiba, Wangechi and other top selected artistes who were on the show. He is an award-winning artiste, one of the best in Africa, noted for his humility and hard work, which has seen him collaborate with the likes of French Montana, AKA and other accomplished acts in the industry.
Sometime back in April, he was hosted on one of the most popular morning shows in the US, The Breakfast Club in the U.S, a show that has seen the creme de la creme appear. Hosts Dj Envy, Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee have hosted celebrities such as Meek Mill, Amber Rose, Idris Elba, Jay Z, Kanye West and other top international acts in the music scene to the Power 105.1 FM show.
At some point during the discussion, Ice Prince was asked if he knew about the only White Rhino that was remaining in the world, and was under 24-hour surveillance to guard it from poachers at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy back then.
Ice Prince wasn’t aware of that and when one of the show hosts alluded to the animal being in Nigeria, Zamani denied that fact. One of the hosts searched about it on Google and realized that it was in Kenya.
Ice Prince who has been here several times gave a shout out to Kenya, calling it a beautiful place.
“Kenya is another beautiful place with a lot of animal reserves and stuff like that…yeah, I won’t be too surprised,” he said.
When in Kenya, he got to spend time with local artistes and mentored a musical group called Final Round Music Group. He also got to do a mini-photo-shoot with fashion designer Iona McCreathe.
