Former President Mwai Kibaki and his wife Lucy have been married for over half a century. This has been a long time and it is one of the most iconic marriage in Kenya. The two met in 1960 and after dating for two years they got married.
Lucy, an Alliance High School alumni trained as a teacher and later rose through the ranks to become a principal at a teachers training college in Kiambu County. On the other hand, Kibaki, a Makerere University alumni decided to join politics after a successful career and went on to become the MP for Donholm (now known as Makadara) constituency and decades later became the president.
