Tanzanian singers Diamond Platnumz and Vanessa Mdee shone bright at the just concluded All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) which went down last night in Lagos, Nigeria. The two who have been closely supporting each other recently won large at the AFRIMMA Awards too. They took to social media to share the great news with fans, with Vanessa Mdee thanking her producer Nahreel for the good job done.

Vabessa’s song “Hawajui” won in the Best African Pop category. It is one of her most successful songs ever. She recently released a big tune which is being played on radio stations and TV networks across the continent. “Never Ever,” a song dedicated to her celebrity boyfriend was directed by famed South African videographer Justin Campos. “Hawajui” which was released on Youtube last December and has gotten over 600K views and was directed by Justin’s brother Nick Campos, who has since left the videography business.

Diamond won three awards at the ceremony, namely Best Song of the Year, Best African Artist of the Year and Best East African Male of the Year. He thanked his lover Zari, the media, his producer Tudd Thomas and daughter Princess Tiffah for the major support.
Earlier on, he received the Artist of the Year award from Africa Youth Choice Awards.
