In 2014, Standard Group’s writer and celebrated Kenyan poet Tony Mochama, popularly known as Smitta was accused of sexually harassing poet Shailja Patel while at a party.
It was alleged that Mochama got so sloshed and started touching the woman inappropriately. The woman went ahead and even sued the writer. Apparently, the case was dropped, and things seemed to have favored Smitta. (Read story below)

Wakina Patel, when their first accusation was found not to be holding any water, then INVENTED a ‘second woman’ with a fictitious OB number which my lawyers discovered as they tried to trace this second mystery accuser. I currently have a three million shilling lawsuit in Milimani against this maligner, so cannot comment anymore. I also have a literary text on contemporary African poetry that even teens will LOVE coming out on March 4th and being launched at a penthouse poetry party on that day at Chester House.
