Dreams Are Valid! Hip Hop Singer Hosted By President Barack Obama In The White House

Imagine getting the rare opportunity to visit US President Barack Obama at the White House and he’s the one who actually invited you.

President Obama recently proclaimed that his favorite song of 2015 was Kendrick Lamar’s “How Much a Dollar Cost,” and it was revealed that the Commander-in-Chief and the rapper sat down in the Oval Office to discuss a variety of topics.

The American Hip-Hop star got to hang out with Obama in the White House, in connection with the affiliate network of mentoring organizations called the National Mentoring Partnership, for which he just released a PSA called “Pay It Forward”.

This is what Lamar says in the Pay It Forward video;

I sat down with President Barack Obama and shared the same views, topics concerning the inner cities, the problem, the solutions, and further more embracing the youth, both being aware that mentoring saves lives. Sometimes I reflect and think back, ‘Where would I be if I hadn’t had the presence of an older acquaintance telling me what’s right and what’s wrong?’

Obama’s senior adviser Valerie Jarrett shed some more light on the president’s encounter with Lamar in an interview.

“You know what the president said to him,” Jarrett said. “[Because Lamar] was a little nervous — bless his heart, he’s really a very nice young man, and the president said, ‘Can you believe that we’re both sitting in this Oval Office?'”
