Meet Ken Wa Mwangi, The Man Who Was Fired After He Made Sexually Offensive Remarks About Underage Girls (Photos)

Whatever you do, always know that there are consequences. And apart from that, always have in mind that the internet never forgets, and so be careful on what you post on social media. Ken Wa Mwangi, a Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) employee, is currently spending nights in the cold after he was sacked for gross misconduct.

Mwangi, who is known for posting bad things or rather negative remarks about young girls, was yesterday caught by the long arm of the law after he made sexually offensive remarks about underage girls that annoyed many. Everyone was baying for his blood.

Who is going to save our children if father figures have turned out to be wild animals? The law prohibits such acts, and so Mwangi risks imprisonment. The constitution provides that:

“A person including a Juristic person who – a) manufactures or distributes any article that promotes or is intended to promote a sexual offense with a child; or b) who supplies or displays to a child any article which is intended to be used in the performance of a sexual act with the intention of encouraging or enabling that child to perform such sexual act is guilty of an offense and is liable upon conviction to imprisonment for a term not less than five years and where the accused person is a juristic person to a fine not less than five hundred thousand shillings.”

KAA reacted quickly after Kenyans called for Mwangi’s arrest, and he was fired with immediate effect.

“Jambo! We have noted with great concern that one of our employees has allegedly posted comments online that go against our policy and the laws of this country. Investigations on the same are currently underway. Kenya Airports Authority is a strong advocate of women and children’s rights and is taking this matter with the seriousness it deserves.”

The remorseful Mwangi later took to social media to apologise to Kenyans, but he wasn’t forgiven.

“Guys, guys…please..am sorry for what I posted but I just did it in in a humorous way but people ended up taking it seriously. I don’t deal with kids or such stuff. I just like jokes. Again..am sorry. Forgive me people.”

Many people, including celebrities such as Janet Mbugua, have come out to condemn Mwangi’s heinous behaviour, and have called upon the government to arrest such people.

“Our children are to be protected, not targeted. What Ken Wa Mwangi posted today is one the most disturbing things I’ve read! (See Twitter trends) Lets have a conversation around internet violence this Thursday from 6 pm. Use the hashtag #ENDViolence, in association with UNICEF.”

Janet shared online. We hope Mwangi is going to be a lesson to many with such bad manners. Well, for those who don’t know Mwangi,
