The Pope is about to jet into the country occasioning a lock down on roads and bring blessings with him. He’s one of the most prominent guys who have visited the country since the beginning of the year. This actually shows that despite the security hurdles that haunt us from time to time, there is still hope in us as a nation. Here are the 5 prominent people who visited Kenya

1. U.S. President Barack Obama

Barack Obama came in late July for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES). It is his first ever Kenyan visit since he last visited the country as Illinois Senator. During the visit, he got to address Kenyans at the Safaricom Indoor Arena, met several Kenyan entrepreneurs and visited the 1998 bomb blast site. It was a remarkable visit that saw Kenyans marvel at Osprey helicopters and The Beast. He also had dinner at State House with top Kenyan dignitaries and danced with Sauti Sol.

2. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella

Satya Nadella is one of the most talked about CEOs of the year. He stopped by Kenya for a couple days during the launch of Windows 10. It was a phenomenal event. It marked a hallmark for the Kenyan tech community; it is a sign that our country is a notable innovation hub. Some of the greatest technological advancements have stemmed out of Kenya; for example the M-Pesa money transaction services. It is being rapidly adopted around the globe.
