George Njoroge Kariuki travelled all the way from Nairobi to pay his last respects to the veteran politician who is being laid to rest today – Wednesday, September 14th – at his home in Motonyi, Narok.

When he arrived, he was barred from accessing the grounds where the funeral mass was being held. But he persisted and forced himself into the venue.

Although the 46-year-old says he was not planning to cause any trouble, the security men would hear none of it as they forcefully ejected him from the venue.

Speaking to journalists after being thrown out, Kariuki said he deserved to be present for Ntimama’s final journey since he was his father and that they were in good talking terms.

Barely a week after Ntimama’s passing, George Njoroge Kariuki moved to court to stop his burial.

He told the court that he was afraid of losing his inheritance should the former minister be buried without a DNA test.

Kariuki says Ntimama sired him in 1969 but later abandoned him and his mother, forcing her to raise him alone

He says he would have come out earlier but he was afraid of the hostile reception that he would receive from Ntimama’s immediate family.

However, Justice Joseph Onguto declined to grant Mr Kariuki his wish, saying that he should have raised the issue earlier.

He also declined to issue any temporary order, saying the matter can still be heard even after the burial of William Ole Ntimama.
