City Girl Njoki Chege is back. This time round she was on the fat women’s case and she is not happy with them. According to the City Girl, “plus size” is a polite code name for fat women. In her article titled “Fat women, let’s tackle this elephant in the room”, Njoki Chege takes shots at “plus size” women telling them that they are fat because of their gluttony and laziness.
“These misguided fat women think that big is beautiful and they are even calling themselves ‘authentic African women’.
What nonsense! I don’t know how many times I am going to repeat this, but big is not beautiful. If you are a woman weighing over 80 kilos, you qualify to be called fat and somebody has to break it down for you and tell you the truth.”
She further goes on to advise them to exercise a lot lest they die of high blood pressure and diabetes. Although many supported Njoki Chege for telling our beloved sisters the “bitter truth”, to some this was a total insult. And Naomi Ng’ang’a, one of the plus size models in the city, did not take it kindly but took shots back at Njoki Chege
