Think about it. No, really think about it. When it comes to relationships, one rule I like to stick to is the don’t ask, don’t tell policy where I take it as my responsibility not to know anything about my partners past.
Why you ask? Well because I see nothing to gain in know with whom your partner did whatever it was you enjoy doing with her now nor how the body count factor in. But I spoke to a friend of mine who opened my eyes.
Perhaps we do need to know the sexual history of the person we are dating. Not because we are voyeurs seeking to dream up their intimate moments but because it can help us understand their sexual characteristics and we can find out about any diseases they might have.
Admittedly, I wouldn’t be the most forthcoming with this information given my body count but it could prove to be important to my partners. Wouldn’t you want to know if your partner has procured an abortion before? Wouldn’t you want to know if your lad has been burnt before? I know I would want to know if my lass has been burnt.
Also body count matters. As an adult, it allows you a better understanding of just what kind of sexual being your partner is. Or perhaps my lass cheated on her former partners… That wouldn’t bode well for us but I would like to be prepared.
