According to the story, Nigerian police were lucky enough to arrest a group of thugs who were transporting ammunition hidden in a coffin. Remember The Police Woman Assaulted By Ruto’s Pilot? She Just Got Awarded. Here Is Why

We all watched the video in disbelief but most of us do not even know her name. I am ofcourse, referring to the video in which a police officer was slapped and shoved by a mzungu.

Her name is Corporal Mercy Wandera. And though the nation has moved on from it’s brief disbelief over the incident, not everyone has forgotten her. An NGO has now moved in to award her courage. Makes you wonder whether or not the government she works for really cares about the wellbeing of civil servants.

While awarding her, the Aids Reality Awareness Campaign and Drugs Abuse Prevention Surveillance (ARECA-DAPS) said the corporal’s actions, helped stabilize an incident which could have been volatile and end up embarrassing the Deputy President.

The NGO awarded the corporal a community based Hero Award which she will receive through the Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet.

This Is Sad! Kikuyus Trending On Twitter And The Tweets Will Break Your Heart!

This is truly sad. I always thought tribalism was a thing with our parents and the generation just after them… The so-called generation Y – the guys who are 35years old now. But what I am seeing tells me I am either naive or just daft. A little of both perhaps

I went on twitter today, something I must admit I rarely do anymore – no really, Twitter is dying. Anyway, when I got on, I saw a trending topic called #Kikuyus. I shuddered. Perhaps I am jaded but from my experience, nothing positive comes of these tribal hashtags.

And when I checked out, my instincts were vindicated. There was little in the way of positivity. Everything was vitriolic diatribe and, to be honest, I am scared. I am scared for two reasons:

Kenyan youth are clearly tired of the leadership in place and the voices of anger are growing by the day.
Kenyan youth are misdirecting their anger. We are personifying our faceless enemies in the form of a tribe.

We cannot make an ethnicity our enemy. We cannot make an ethnic community a target for our anger. Check out what the tweets were saying:

The story which insinuates that she was pimped out by me has caused her husband to leave their home and her employer is threatening to sack her this week.

Let me clarify. This woman attended an interactive talk on social dynamics to better her marriage and now because of some unethical blogger her marriage is on the rocks.

You can attack me and crucify my work but there are lines you should never cross. DO NOT victimize my clients by writing out of context stories to gain viewership ratings.

Those of you stating that I am part of #teammafisi, I have news for you. I am a member of #teammasimba. We still honour the brother code (the men’s code), we do not prey on people’s wives. We do not subscribe to #teammafisi small boy antics.

It would have been far easier to become a gigolo than study sexology for 4 years. So to all those bloggers and writers, if you crave for real facts about my work, do not speculate just call me.

My request, pull down those photos on your blogs and websites that implicate innocent people and concentrate your smearing campaigns solely on me.

Dowry is property or money brought by a bride to her husband on their marriage, and I think it should be practised, despite many terming it an old tradition. So Heart Wrenching! Wahu Mourns Her Late Father

To lose someone so close to you. This is the part of life that ultimately sucks. Having to let go of someone who was so close to you and really not getting closure. Or perhaps the closure is in knowing that life is a beautiful lie and truth. The ugly truth.

Whatever the case, I can’t image the pain Wahu lives with knowing her father is dead and gone. But perhaps, scant as it might be, she can seek solace in the knowledge that he is in a better place.

She took to social media to mourn her father with a very touching message. I was compelled to share:

My oh my. How I miss you dad. You’ve been gone for over 3 years now, but I can’t help but miss u so much. I know you would have called me at 6am when I was born to wish me happy birthday. Don’t worry mom did. You’d think by now I’d have stopped crying. That I’d be used not having you around…but I’m not dad. I miss u. Death sucks!!!! Death freaking sucks!!! And I miss u so much.
