Some time back, Nairobians were left awestruck, when Nairobi senator Mike Sonko flamboyantly showcased his gold-plated fleet of SUVs made up of a few Mercedes Benz and Toyota Prado models. This was his show of grandeur as he rolled down the bumpy streets of Kidero’s city in a showcase of utter opulence.
For many people, a trip abroad might mean a small hired ride and if you have a few more chums you hire a flashy car. But this is not the case one rich Saudi man. He put the meaning to the popular phrase, Arab money.
Britain’s flashiest tourist, from Saudi Arabia, arrived in the capital over the weekend with a fleet of gold cars worth more than Sh124 million. His vehicles include a Sh45.8 million Mercedes G63, a six-wheel off-roader, a Bentley Flying Spur, worth Sh27.2 million, a Sh43.4 million Rolls-Royce and a Sh43.4 million Lamborghini Aventador SV.
