Kenya has made it to the list of the top 10 most competitive economies in Africa. The World Economic Forum Global Competitiveness report ranks our nation at number 9, noting that it could do much better were it not for rampant corruption.
Back in July when U.S President Obama came to Kenya for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, he stressed on the need to get rid of this menace.
Top 20 Kenyan Destinations To Visit Before You Die
On top of the list is Mauritius, which has taken the position for the second consecutive year. South Africa comes second, with its growth being attributed to rapid uptake of digital technologies with Rwanda taking third position. This is because the landlocked country is ranked in the top 20 nations with the best institutions and work force in the world.
Other countries on the list include Botswana, Cote d’Ivoire and Zambia. The real question is, when will Kenya lead the way by being the best economy in Africa? With this trend (corruption and poor leadership) we might continue dropping. See the list via CNN.
