A study by University College London’s School of Management and the University of Maryland in the UK and the United States shows this trend.

“Managers are affected by stereotypes and make hiring decisions to serve their own self-interests so organizations may not get the most competent candidates” professor Sun Young Lee, lead researcher at the University of Maryland was quoted saying.

So, if you’re a hot dude don’t go smiling at managers – especially if they’re male. You will not only come across as trying to hit on them but also as a potential threat. Their judgment on you is already predetermined.
Well, it seems team ugly is already winning.
A perfect example of such a case is actor Rob Lowe, known for his role in Wayne’s World (1992) and Sex Tape (2014). Last year, he admitted that there’s a bias against “good-looking people, that they can’t be in pain or they can’t have rough lives or be deep or interesting.” This was in an interview with the New York Times.
