Poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and comunicable diseases are just some of the challenges facing third world countries. Apart from HIV/AIDs and malaria, cancer is also among the top killer illnesses, and it kills millions annually. Most of the cancer patients face a lot of challenges such as; lack of finances to foot mounting medical bills, lack of trained professionals in cancer care and lack of resources for managing cancer.

Although the government too, doesn’t provide enough funds to support cancer patients, many die while queuing for radiotherapy due to lack treatment machinary in some of our local hospitals. Many have come out to help children battling the strange disease, and Classic 105 radio personality Maina Kageni recently bought equipment for the children at the Kenyatta National Hospital cancer ward. It seems, they weren’t enough and we are still losing our little angels; future leaders to the disease.
Well, award winning gospel singer Bahati has penned an open letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta, asking him to do something for the cancer kids at KNH because each day, there has to be a death reported.
