No one is safe or rather nowhere is safe. Word going round is that one of Senator Mike Sonko’s bodyguards, Constable Bakari Tsuma, was shot dead on Friday. According to sources, the late Bakari was on his way home after dropping the flamboyant senator at his home in Runda, when a gang of 4 confronted him shooting him in the forehead in Nairobi’s Kasarani area.
Bakari was rushed to hospital, but sadly passed away while undergoing treatment. This came as a shock to Mike Sonko, who has asked the police to investigate the matter.
“We want to know how and why my bodyguard was killed. These seem to be professional people on a mission.”
Nairobi Police Commander Japheth Koome, said that police have started investigating the incident and a manhunt for the suspects launched. The deceased was robbed of his gun during the attack. Bakari will be laid to rest today at his ancestral home in Kwale County.
