Bob Collymore has gotten married and his wedding is now the talk of the town and with good reason. First, to most Kenyans, nothing about his wedding followed a “safe” script. Both he and his wife did things their way with a garden wedding.
As splendid as the wedding was,most guys couldn’t understand why he didn’t just take the entire affair to church – like most Kenyans would.
Second, both the bride and groom are divorced. Kenyans seem to believe that life stops when a man or woman gets divorced and they should lead the rest of their lives in a hermitage at the foot of Mt. Kenya.
But Bob Collymore and his lovely bride have taught Kenyans that not everyone conforms to society’s dictates. Some of us prefer to do things our way. And I for one I’m glad to have gleaned these tips from them.
But there are other lessons Bob Collymore has taught Kenyan bachelors the world over (I know he is from Trinidad and Tobago, I am simply saying he has lived here long enough to be considered Kenyan).
