Who is going to save our children if the government itself cannot? This is the question running on the minds of Kenyan parents after the ugly incident that happened yesterday at The University of Nairobi. Many innocent students were reportedly brutally beaten by the troops of GSU officers who were deployed to maintain peace at the institution after students took to the streets to demonstrate against Babu Owino’s win.
Ugly scenes have emerged from what seemed to be a peaceful demonstration, turned into a horrifying incident – based on the highly circulated photos and videos. The sad news is that there has been claims of female students getting sexually harassed. A video of GSU officers grabbing a female student’s buttocks forcing her to enter their lorry has gone viral and the public has come out to condemn this.
