It’s an epic moment for Kenya this afternoon, following the triumphant win of the Kenya Sevens team, Shujaa, after beating powerhouses Fiji 30-7 to win the HSBC Singapore leg. After 114 tournaments played across 17 years when Kenya were selected to the world series, they delivered on the big stage and sent the country into a celebratory mood.

President Uhuru Kenyatta congratulated the team for the heroic performance and said he will receive the team when thy arrive tomorrow evening. It was the third time lucky for Kenya in the final after losing 26-7 to South Africa in Adelaide in 2009 and losing to England 24-19 in extra time in Wellington in 2013.
