Cases of party revellers being drugged, robbed and left for dead have been rampant in the recent past but it seems even after the warnings by police and the many stories published online people still go out or entertain strangers in clubs. When will they ever learn?

Well, Kitavi Gobrine, a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier based in Mtongwe Barracks, has sued a prostitute; Sarah Njoki who allegedly drugged and stole from him. Kitavi accused Njoki of stealing his phone, military card and other valuables worth Sh. 51, 500 at a popular joint along Outering Road.
According to Kitavi, he visited the club for refreshments and after spending a few minutes there, a group of women (Njoki was among them) came in and asked him if they could share a table and he agreed. The soldier narrated how he bought drinks for Njoki and her pals and when he excused himself to go to the toilet, only to come back and found that his drink was spiked.
The case was heard today and Njoki denied the accusations and was released on a cash bail of Sh 20,000.
