I just can’t anymore with this lad. From threatening bloggers to beating up KQ pilots because they refused his request for a ride, Prezzo is taking this whole badboy gambit too far.
In truth, you need to understand that there are huge discrepancies between a mature entertainment industry and what we have here in Kenya. Abroad, companies do not care what you do -to an extreme point- aslong as they can continue to leverage your audiences.
That is why celebrities in Hollywood survive the stupidest scandals and can get away with being a$$wipes. In Kenya however, that just doesn’t fly.
Let us start with the audience, they are way too skittish about bad behaviour for it to have a positive impact on your brand. Secondly, Kenyan audience are only just getting to embrace their celebrities and interact with them. They are still learning what it entails.
More importantly, if you are going to be a celebrity hellbent on acting like a douchebag, atleast keep the music coming! Look at Willy Paul. He is a stellar example. In showbiz terms, he is a Johnny-come-lately BUT he has run circles round Prezzo’s world like Saturn!
