Forget about all the city churches where you have to attend services in bits so as to get space to seat. There’s a new church in town. It’s a 4,000-seater sanctuary in Karen with many facilities in the compound, including a dispensary and executive offices.
Founded by celebrated pastor Rev Teresia Wambui of Faith Evangelistic Ministries (FEM), the new church was commissioned by President Uhuru Kenyatta last Sunday in a colourful ceremony attended by thousands, including politicians.
Said to have cost more than Sh1 billion, Uhuru said it was the best church in the world while addressing worshippers. Who knows, all the city millionaires might leave their ‘original’ churches for this one.
“I have been to many churches, but this is possibly the best House of God I have seen in the world.”
