I read an amazing story by BBC in 2011, about one Kenyan woman called Gladys Bulinya, and her staggering brood. Gladys had given birth to a whopping 12 children, six sets of non-identical twins born between 1993 and 2010.
The strong woman (35-years-old then) lived alone with 10 of her dozen children, six girls and four boys, in a one-roomed grass-thatched house in the village of Nzoia. She said that her situation was even intensified further by a local belief that twins were cursed by a divine jinx. What hogwash!
My belief is, however, contrary to her’s. From a personal experience, twins are a blessing and there is absolutely no doubt about that. In Kenya we have a few celebs who have brought fourth twins. We sample a number of them.
