Kilifi County Governor Finds Himself Embroiled In Affair Hoax, Crowd Almost Lynches Him

Police in Kilifi were on Thursday evening forced to hurl teargas to disperse anxious residents who surrounded a house after rumour went round that a senior Kilifi county officer got stuck while having an intimate affair with another man’s wife.

The police however could not contain the crowd and allowed a few people to search the house to catch a glimpse of the stuck lovers but found no one in the house.

The matter first went viral on a WhatsApp group after a renown kilifi blogger Samir Nyundo posted that a Chief officer with the Kilifi county government got stuck after going to bed with a wife whose husband is said to have sort the services of a witch doctor to ‘protect’ his wife from other men.

“One of the county government chief officer ameshikwa na tego akila uroda na bibi ya mwenyewe, Mganga ameitwa saa hii,” read the post in Dhome, which literally translates to one of the county government chief officers has caught by ‘tego’ while having a sexual affair with somebody’s wife. A witchdoctor has been called now.

Tego is a kind of protection in the mijikeda community where a man who suspects his wife is having an affair with other men sets with or without the knowledge of the wife so that every man who has an affair with her his manhood stuck inside her or he gets an endless erection until a ritual is performed to treat the condition.

Police went to the house which the blogger had photographed and posted on the group to disperse the crowd which had camped there from as early as 10;00am and stayed there up to 6;00 in the evening.

“We want to see these two because we have been told they are still inside since morning. We have heard a rumour that they have been taken to the Kilifi county hospital but they are not there,” said Karisa Katana.

The police who arrived at the house at 1pm searched for the couples but could not get anybody. They hurled the teargas to disperse the crown but no one left and eventually allowed some people to search the house.

“You can go to every corner of this house and bring them out. If you do not find them then you can tell the others so that they can believe, said one of the police officers.

However Nhyndo posted again in the evening that he was just trying to experiment what people like to hear in the town.

“I have noted that people in Kilifi are not pro development. Since morning I have received over 200 inboxes asking when and who a thing which is a non-issue. When a constructive debate is going on everyone shies off. Kilifi haitaendelea hata kwa dawa,” he posted
