Controversial Malawian pastor Shepherd Bushiri of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) and Shepherd Bushiri Ministries International is in the news again but for good reasons this time round. Bushiri who recently bought a private jet worth Sh3.8 million has sent tongues wagging after he recently invested in a football club.

Bushiri hired a Norwegian coach to train his boys hoping that one day he will “reap” heavily from this new investment. According to reports, Shepherd Bushiri is the fastest emerging African pastor both financially and spiritually.
“Through the new Academy Manager, Coach Francis from Norway, I believe the youngsters are in experienced and good hands. My prayers are with them as they sharpen their skills for more bound rewarding careers in Europe,”
He told a local Malawian blog. Bushiri’s new move has left his followers praising him. Maybe because he gives back to the society unlike some pastors around who milk millions from their flocks and squander it with their families.
