It’s been just over two years since amazing gospel singer Kaberere departed. At the time of his death, the ‘Nisamehe’ hit star’s wife Njeri Kahura was pregnant with the couple’s second baby. In fact, she was to give birth any time around the time Kaberere met his death as a result of an electrocution at his car wash in Lower Kabete on April 6, 2014.
The news about his death was met with utmost grief and a cloud of sorrow hang over the entire Kenyan music industry. Kaberere, who also worked as a dedicated Logistics/Operations Manager at one of Kenya’s best events company, Mo Sound, was truly a loved and treasured young man. His music transcended across all age groups and audiences and for this, he was at his best level in music career before the tragic accident.
On the night of April 11, 2014, the day his funeral service was held, Njeri gave birth to a bouncing baby girl, whom she named Njoki Kaberere. The baby’s arrival at such a difficult time was not an easy thing for Njeri, but everything went well. Baby Njoki is now all grown up and looking as beautiful and adorable as she could possibly be.
