A Congolese man has been charged with rape before Makadara court after allegedly raping and forcing a Nairobi woman to drink a salty drink to prevent her apparently from getting pregnant.

Eric Irakiza, who purportedly committed the offence on February 26 at Sunton Estate in Kasarani, denied the charges before principal magistrate Emily Olwande.

The suspect was denied bail after prosecution asked the court to have him remanded at the industrial area police station as he is a flight risk being a foreigner. The case will be heard on July 28.
