Meru University Closes After An ‘Unnecessary’ Death Of A Student
Meru University was on Monday evening closed indefinitely by the institution’s senate council after students went on the rampage following the death of a student.

The students accused the university’s administration of negligence saying it failed to get their ailing colleague treatment in good time.
Several students were arrested in the ensuing melee as anti riot police moved in to quell the ordeal using tear-gas canisters.
Many of the first year students who reside within the campus were forced to seek refuge in the neighbouring forest to avoid being arrested.
Traffic was paralysed for several hours along the Meru-Maua highway as the students barricaded the road.
“It is very sad that we have lost a student who had a very promising life ahead of him. But it happened a bit too fast, so we met as senate and deliberated and realized that it would very insecure for us to go through the night,” said deputy vice chancellor Gitonga Mburugu.
“The health centre should be open all days of the week but it was closed,” said a student.
“When our friend developed chest complications and breathing became difficult we rushed him to a clinic at the market and after being attended to he became progressively worse,” added another student.
Dr Narman Mugambi, who received the student at the clinic, said he vomited then fell unconscious.
“He was brought by his colleagues and when I was listening to them he started to vomit blood then fell unconscious. I told them to go fetch the ambulance then they took him away to another hospital,” said Mugambi
According to Tigania West OCPD Joshua Opiyo, the students caused minimal damage to few kiosks outside the university and university facilities as well.
Opiyo said the student’s body was moved to Meru Level 5 hospital.

A total of 14 students were arrested on Sunday night in Homa Bay town for underage drinking.
The students who are below 18 years of age were arrested in the club while dressed in civilian clothes when attended the club.

The pupils who hailed from different schools in Homa Bay County are between class seven to form three.
Eyewitnesses said the pupils disguise themselves in their attire to prevent people from knowing their identity.
“They started entering the club from 5pm and when it reached 8pm they begun taking bottles of alcoholic drinks,” the witness said.
A teacher, Ben Otieno said some of the pupils were misbehaving under influence of alcohol.
“Most of them made noise outside the club before they attracted attention of the public. Some of them were seen removing their clothes in the process of dancing in the club,” he said.
The teacher said a resident tipped the police who apprehended the pupils after they realized their behavour was becoming out of hand.
Area OCPD Esau Ochorokodi confirmed arresting the pupils and said they are holding them in Homa Bay police station.
The police boss added they will charge them in court once investigations over their conduct is complete.
“We arrested them they were in the club illegally. They could not produce their Identity cards hence they are considered as minors,” Ochorokodi said.
Ochorokodi said they had arrested the club manager too for allowing minor in the club.
“Serious action will be taken against the club manager because permitting underage persons in a club is outlawed,” he added.
Some parents thronged the police station to demand whereabouts of their children.
“My daughter who is in form three left home on Thursday evening but I have been informed she was arrested. I wonder why children of these days misbehave,” one of the parent told journalists.

Do you remember the hilarious blunder by Bro Ochola? Actually let me call it a monumental fcuk up. Bro Ochola was in a WhatsApp group called Embakasi Prayercell he shocked his group members when he accidentally sent a sext to the group.
He wrote, “You seem to love my voice. This voice will whisper asking how you are feeling when you will be having an orgasms at cloud nine,” his message read. This was quickly followed by an apology “Wrong message, sorry,” to the group.

Now, a nominated MCA from Vihiga county has reportedly gone into hiding after she accidentally posted her nude photo on a WhatsApp group on Friday.
Rhoda Omufumu, who was nominated on the now dissolved United Democratic Front, is said to have posted a nude photo of herself with an unidentified man.
The photo was posted on the Vihiga County Development group at 9.12 pm on Friday.
Omufumu is currently communicating through a source who also works at the Vihiga County Assembly.
The source told the Star, Omufumu does not know how to use digital gadgets. He also said she is a church leader.
“Mtu alichezea simu yake (someone messed around with her phone) … she is a church leader who cannot post such things on social media. She is married and she has grown up children.”
Immediately after the photo was posted, suspended county assembly speaker Dan Chitwa asked Omufumu to “undo” the post, saying “itakuletea njaa”.
The post also elicited reaction on social media, with most people calling for the MCA’s resignation for ‘letting the entire community down’.
Nominated MCA Maureen Ambasa asked her female counterparts to meet on Monday to form a committee that will look into the matter.
Central Maragoli MCA Abdallah Chogo urged fellow ward reps to move with speed and establish what happened.

Apart from politics, Kabogo is such a caring and loving husband to his wife Philomena and sons, Andrew and Alvin. Nyenyekea Mungu Akutumie! Bob Collymore Finally Meets The Safaricom Female Employee Who Helped A Disabled Man (PHOTOS)
Pauline Muganda Shamola, whose photo kneeling down to serve a disabled man called William at a Safaricom outlet in Nakuru went viral leaving her trending on social media for the better part of Friday afternoon. Pauline, a Safaricom employee, touched the hearts of many who when she went out of her way to serve William leaving Kenyans begging the Safaricom CEO to promote the humble lady.
Pauline who did this out of kindness was visited and rewarded by officials of the National Council of People Living With Disabilities on Friday and this left her shedding tears of joy.
During an interview with a local publisher, Pauline revealed that she had trained as an air hostess, a field she worked in for a while before joining Safaricom as a customer service officer and was mesmerized by Kenyans congratulatory messages on social media.

POMBE SIO JUICE! Drunk Driver Crashes Into Delamere Shop (EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS)
A middle-aged Kenyan man brought a section of Naivasha town to a standstill yesterday night after he crashed his expensive guzzler into a Delamere shop along the busy Nakuru – Nairobi highway.
According to eye witnesses the man was allegedly drunk and rammed into the busy shop while he was trying to park outside and luckily no one was hurt but his car (the front part) was badly damaged and part of the building’s wall.
This attracted many passers-bys and passengers who crowded the area just to see for themselves what had happened. Business in the area did not ground to a halt after this vehicular mishap, it went on as usual at the Delamere shop.
This comes barely six months after a matatu driver veered off the road and rammed into a bakery along Moi Avenue in Nairobi killing a guard and passerby.

Accidents have been rampant in the recent past with many losing their lives and loved ones in road accidents due to rogue drivers and the latest being the Sachangwan incident that left six dead and scores injured. The accident involved a Nairobi bound bus which was carrying primary school students from Western Kenya to Nairobi and a shuttle.

AKI PASTORS WANA NYEGE SANA! Woman Accuses SDA Pastor Of Being A SEX Pest
A woman has accused a pastor of Seventh Day Adventist Church, Nairobi East, of sexually harassing her.
According to the Star, the woman said she works as a teacher at a school sponsored by the church, at which the pastor is also based.
She filed an affidavit accusing pastor Paul Owuor of the offence.

The teacher claimed the pastor sexually harassed her after calling her into his office at around 8.30am on September 30.
“He told me I am beautiful, young and good looking….and he will be happy to go out with me,” she said.
She added that Owuor told her that allowances, salary increment and permanent employment that she was to be paid had been discussed and permitted by the Education board.
“But I would only get them if I complied with his sexual demands,” she said.
The woman who joined the school in January 2015, said that when she turned down the demands, Owuor told her to help him “fix” an elder who has been giving him problems at the church.
She said the pastor wanted her to allege an affair with the elder but that she also turned down this request.
The woman said on October 16, an elder told her she was being investigated for having an affair with his colleague.
She said she explained the matter to him but that he sided with Owuor.
“I am apprehensive that pastor Owuor and the investigating elder are out to tamper with my complaint,” she said in the affidavit.
“I am apprehensive that the pastor is looking for a reason to sack me. I have done nothing wrong.”
The teacher said she reported the matter to the council of elders but claimed the pastor influenced them into intimidating her and covering up her complaint.
She also said she wrote a protest letter to the President of the SDAC General Conference headquarters based in New York.

These Are The 7 Sexiest Jobs Kenyan Women Can Have
I had a very interesting conversation with some of my colleagues about which jobs are sexy and which jobs aren’t. To be fair, this was a conversation between 4 rather bored friends but what came of it is nothing short of gold.
You see, I had been going through a site called 9gag when I came across a list of jobs it claimed were sexy for females… I butchered that statement but because I am looking to get to a word quota, I shan’t bother to delete it. I shall simply start again.
It was a list of jobs males who had been polled had said they found sexy. As in the women working these jobs were sexy. And that got us talking. I didn’t agree with the list so we got the talking about what a proper Kenyan list would look like. And I carried out some rather intense consultative talks to ome up with a list that was just right.
And I want to share that list with you. Enjoy.
That said, I prefer my women powerful. I prefer a manager or CEO or a lass who is working her way up the ladder. I do not go in for the stuff the lads put on this list.
