Pierra Makena has been in Los Angeles over the past week. She was attending the Nollywood & African Film Critics’ Awards (NAFCA) gala. In a turn of events, the curvy entertainer won an award!
The “Wape Wape” singer took to social media to share the news in a short clip, saying “Ladies and gentlemen, I won! I won! I won!”
She thanked everyone who had voted for her, seeing her clinch the Best Supporting Actress title despite having tight competition!

Her biggest competition was American actress Vivica Fox, who has appeared on Fresh Prince of Bel Air, 90210, Celebrity Apprentice and the movie Independence Day. Vivica is set to act alongside Taraji Henson (Cookie) as her sister in the upcoming season of Empire.
Other big winners from the awards included writers Mr. Wole Soyinka, Dr. Kole Odutola, Dr. Fumi Hancock and Mrs. Odile Koudou.
