On Thursday, I hosted South African Rapper K.O for an interview. He’s been in East Africa for a media tour and looking for potential collaborators to work with. K.O. is known for his smash hit, “Cara Cara,” which has been receiving massive airplay in the country and across Africa. He says that while conceptualizing the song in the studio, he thought of giving it a retro feel. That’s where the video came from; the VW Vans which used to be the thing back in the 90’s.
The song has had 2 million views now.
The rapper, who is affiliated to the MTV VMA award-winning AKA is in talks with several artists and spotting new talent. Their collaboration “Run Jozi” is one of the most played Hip Hop songs on the continent.
The rapper, has also worked with Tanzanian singer Vanessa Mdee on his love song “Nobody But Me.”
